I've been to nearly a hundred concerts in my short life, and I am here to tell you that three of the best shows I've ever seen have been put on by North Carolina's premiere "hot jazz" band, The Squirrel Nut Zippers.
All seven of the Zippers are full of energy, full of music, and full of passion for what they are doing, and it comes out in their music as well as their stage presence. They have style, they have class, they have talent, and they have rhythm (who could ask for anything more?)
Aaron and I were lucky enough to score two photo passes, in the name of The Shrubbery from Taylor at Mammoth records, for the Zippers' show in Cincinnatti. We were hoping to get some good shots of the Zippers in action, and they didn't let us down! From the second the first band, Gutbucket came on stage, through the Dirty Dozen's set, and on past the Zipper's set and encore with the Dozen, Bogart's was jumpin'!
Of course, still photographs can't capture the spectacle that is a Zippers show, but I hope you get an idea of how things are. If not, well, enjoy the shots anyway.
